The beautiful girl is Audrey! She is a purebred red Husky that is around 4-5 years old. Audrey is a great girl! She loves other dogs and contrary to the belief of the Husky breed, Audrey even loves cats! She is well housetrained and is also calm. She loves attention and gets really excited when her Foster Mom tells her she is "pretty"!
Audrey had a tough life. She came to us as an owner surrender, the owner had only had Audrey a short time and had rescued her from a life of abuse where someone had attempted to use her as bait for fighting dogs. Thankfully that attempt failed! Audrey had also been hit by a car and her jaw was broken, she is missing several bottom teeth which causes her tongue to often stick out to the side. Audrey does not have any problem eating, even with some of her teeth missing. Poor Audrey also had severe ear infections and her ears were covered in what appeared to be fly bites. To add to the list, Audrey is heartworm positive and needs treatment. This treatment, with the help of our vet, costs approximately $250.00. We are posting Audrey and her story in hopes of obtaining some assistance with some of her many past and future vet bills.
Despite Audrey's past, she is a WONDERFUL girl with a great spirit! Audrey is in good hands and has a Foster Mom to help her through the days ahead. Please help Audrey so that she may find her forever home soon. This poor girl deserves a really good future!
