My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Molly Belle is a 7 pound, one year old Maltese/poodle that had been surrendered twice to the local shelter. The reason for returning her the second time was for being hyper and chewing on shoes.

Molly Belle does have plenty of energy, but is also very much a couch potato. She loves long naps on the couch or her bed and particularly likes napping in the car. She rides great in the car and loves to go with you. She enjoys sitting on your lap and must sleep on the bed at night. She can be crated when left alone, but does not enjoy it. She will chew on small hard plastic items if left accessible.

She is good with children, but would would prefer a home without very young children that want to carry her around all the time. She tolerates it and enjoys playing with kids, but because of her size she does get tired if being picked up or held incorrectly.

Molly Belle is fine around cats and non reactive dogs. When she first meets dogs she can act very aggressive toward them. If they ignore her she will be fine with them and can live in the same household. She seems to want to play with other dogs, but needs the right introduction. She loves a fenced yard to run around in. She is house trained, but will potty in the house if not taken out frequently enough for her small bladder.

We think that Molly Belle would do best in a home without very small children, but loves for supervised young children to visit. She wants to be with someone all the time and would love to go places with you in the car. She wants to sleep on your bed at night. She would do great in an only dog home or with very laid back dogs. She needs some training to learn how to greet dogs appropriately in public.

Molly Belle is in a foster home in East Tennessee. Her adoption fee includes transport to a pick up location near you. Please email for an application to complete.
