My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

NAME: Jasper
GENDER: Male (Neutered)
AGE: About 3 Years
WEIGHT: About 5 Pounds
DOGS/CATS: Great with other small female dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Will be fine in a home with children (12 and older)
COAT: Long Coat

Meet Jasper. The name Jasper means "treasure" in Persian. This is a perfect name for this little guy, as he is quite the treasure. The family that adopts him will feel as though they have struck it rich!

Jasper and his brothers were turned in to a local shelter. We believe they were being raised by a backyard breeder, as none of them are potty trained and they didn't even seem to know what grass was (isn't that sad?). They also were covered with fleas when they were surrendered which indicates they were outside, probably in cages. Now these little ones are thrilled to be clean, have regular food, and have an indoor home to be safe in.

Jasper adores people He wants to be around you and receive love from you. As he gets more and more comfortable, we think he will be a real cuddle bug. He should also be fine with older, mature children.

Jasper gets along with other small dogs. He does seem to have a soft spot in his heart for the female dogs! He enjoys being with them, and is beginning to play a little bit. He should do well in a home with other dogs, or would be fine as an only dog as long as his human had lots of time to spend with him.

As we mentioned above, Jasper is not potty trained yet. But he is learning very quickly and has already learned to use a pee pee pad. He will sleep in a crate at night. This guy is smart, and as he gets used to being an indoor dog, we believe he will pick up the routines quickly.

Jasper has an amazing red and white long coat. He is only 5 pounds, and is fully grown. He may be little, but he has a lot of love to share. Due to his small size, we recommend an all adult home, or a home with older, mature children.
