Toby is fostered in Urbandale Iowa through United Yorkie Rescue http://unitedyorkierescue.org.
Toby is a 7 lb., 10 yr old Silky who came to Unite Yorkie Rescue in January 2017. Toby arrived with some personality baggage thinking he was the alpha male and had some anxiety that caused him to display some aggressive behavior when he wasn't feeling secure or comfortable with a situation. He's been working on his anxiety and aggressive response to uncomfortable situations but will likely need continued work with someone who understands his needs and is willing to devote the time to ongoing training, and understanding of the Silky breed.
Toby is such a sweet boy, he loves being part of a "family pack", being held and cuddled, and loves to give kisses. He prefers women to men, but does well with both. Toby gets along with other dogs and does well with respectful children, he acts like a playful puppy still. He loves his toys, his favorite game is to hide his toy and have someone find it and play with him. Toby should have commitment by his forever family to a high quality diet, for life.
Toby would love to have a mommy and daddy who can take him for walks, and spend lots of time with him. He will need a home where he won't be left alone, and due to his past anxiety issues he will need to become very comfortable and feel safe with the family he becomes a part of. For this reason must remain in the nearby Des Moines Iowa area (10 miles or so), so that he can ease into his new home, and ensure it's a good fit.
