My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

EMMA is a one year old tortoise shell female cat. She was found in a busy residential area, and the kindly individual who took her in unfortunately could not keep her, as the resident feline didn’t want Emma there. Emma was very thin and very petite, but despite the rough beginning to her life, she has adapted well. Emma is very friendly and very affectionate. She loves to play, and swats her stuffed mouse about quite happily. Emma loves to cuddle and hang with her human. If you’re looking for a loving, snuggly girl, come meet Emma!

At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and a fecal test.

Our shelter is located in the Care for Animals veterinary hospital, at 2944 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886. You are welcome to visit during the following hours: Monday and Tuesday 8 am to 5 pm, Wednesday 12 pm to 7 pm, Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, and Friday 9 am to 1 pm. Very young kittens are in foster homes, not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting a young kitten please fill out our adoption application.

We have an Adoption Open House every Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon. Same day adoptions available to those who bring a completed adoption application, a current lease or proof of home ownership, and up to date veterinary records. We hope to see you there!
