New Britain, CT - Meet Cannoli. He is approximately 5 years old and a petite little thing, weighing in at just 10 lbs. This boy was living under a bridge in Hartford, CT eating any kind of garbage that he could find. He was infested with fleas and completely exhausted from living on the streets! Despite his past, he is one of the sweetest little dogs I've met! He'd be perfectly content snuggling with you all day! He's a huge cuddler and LOVES to bury his little face in the crook of your arm! He loves to be held like a baby. He's not much into toys...it's almost like he's never played with them. He seems to have some guarding issue with other animals (as to be expected, living on the streets) so I think he would prefer to be an only pet. He would also enjoy a calmer, quieter environment. He's doing really well with potty training but is also wearing a belly band in the meantime. Oh, and he loves his crate :)
*** He is listed as an "only pet" but I wanted to clear that up a bit.
He is fostered in a home with other dogs (that he hasn't "officially" met yet) and a kitty. There has been no sign of aggression other then when one of them approaches a food bowl or his crate. Can he coexist with other animals? I believe so but it has to be with a family that understands that there are some guarding issues with his belongings. Keep in mind, this little guy has had to fight to survive out there on his own. ??
Canolli is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and HW tested. He's looking for a family that he can retire with.
