My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mr. Biggs is a very sweet Yorkie who is 3 years old and weighs 6.5 lbs. Mr. Biggs is being fostered in Tampa, FL. Mr. Biggs adoption fee is $475

UPDATED BIO 10/19/2017: Mr. Biggs is a super sweet little fella who is starving for attention. He is very playful and has tons of energy. Mr. Biggs will play fetch until your arm hurts! He gets along well with the resident fur-siblings in the foster home and seems friendly when he sees other dogs on neighborhood walks.

Mr. Biggs does well on the leash, but needs a lot of reinforcement in the house-training department. Even though this nugget is 3 years old, it appears that no one has ever taken the time to acquaint Mr. Biggs with the appropriate task of house-training – or leash-training. This was evident when on the first few walks with foster home, he almost seemed to cower after he peed, like he was thinking he might be in trouble. Foster mom is working on lots of praise after each outside pee and poo. He has not had any poo accidents in the house. He is wearing a bellyband in the home, and the pads in his belly band are consistently wet, but this is most probably excitement/nervous urination.

Mr. Biggs is skittish and fearful when he first meets people, but he warmed up to foster mom super fast. This little fella definitely prefers women and does NOT like children, and will not be placed in the home with children under the age of 16.

Mr. Biggs is your ultimate Velcro-doggie. At the present time, foster mom puts Mr. Biggs in the playpen or in the kennel a couple of times during the day when she is out of the home; otherwise, he is literally right on her heels all the time. He craves attention and loves being with his human(s). When placed in the playpen or kennel, he will bark for the first few minutes and then settle down in his bed. His foster parents are training him to sleep in his kennel at night in the room with them, but it’s obvious that Mr. Biggs would prefer sleeping with his humans.

At his well-dog vet visit, the vet determined that Mr. Biggs does have mild luxating patellas, which is very common in the yorkie breed. He is not in pain – this boy loves to run - and does not need surgery.

The perfect home for Mr. Biggs would be one in which there is one stay-at-home parent, a fenced yard where he can play fetch to his little heart’s content, and no children under the age of 16. A fur brother or sister as a companion would be a bonus. Because Mr. Biggs has gone without house-training or obedience-training his whole life, his adoptive parent(s) must have patience and positive reinforcement with training. But in the end, with consistency and companionship, Mr. Biggs will be an amazing and loyal fur-friend in the right home.

Initial bio 10-14-17 Mr Biggs just arrived at this foster home today. He has already given everyone kisses and is making himself right at home. Mr. Biggs loves people and other dogs, but he may not be very fond of cats. Mr. Biggs will need all his vaccinations updated. His foster parents are just getting to know Mr. Biggs, but they can already tell that he is a sweet, loving little boy.

More coming on Mr. Biggs very soon.
