My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name?

My name is Fiona, or “Fi” for short!

How old are you?

I’m somewhere around 2, so I was probably born in the summer/fall of 2015.

What do you look like?

I am a long, lean, and drop dead gorgeous girl. I have long legs, an athletic build, and a blocky pittie head. I’m a dilute brindle, which means I’m a very light and shiny fawn/tan with caramel stripes here and there. Not to brag or anything, but I’m pretty perfect. #blessed

What do you like to eat?

I love food! So far, my foster mom hasn’t seen me have any allergies. I like salmon and fish based foods because they keep my shiny, but I also love venison foods!

What kind of personality do you have?

I’m super goofy. I LOVE people....they’re my favorite! I’m treat-motived and just want to please my people. I’m also very playful. I love running around in the yard or playing with a toy in the house. I’m learning boundaries in the house and learning how to relax myself when I’m crated. I’m strong and unfortunately haven’t really mastered the art of walking on leash too well, so my family should be prepared to build some arm muscles until they show me the ropes!

Describe your perfect day:

My perfect day would include lots of pets from humans and some romping around either by myself, or with another dog. I would chase squirrels in the yard (I’m going to catch one of those little furballs one of these days!), devour a bully stick or peanut butter kong, and probably just sit around looking at myself in the mirror because I’m so pretty.

What is your favorite toy?

Anything that gets me human attention is my favorite toy!

Do you know any tricks?

Looking this good is basically a full time job, but I’ve also got part time experience in the art of “Sit”.

What scares you?

Sometimes if a person tries to pet me from over top and they have something in their hand or they move too fast, it scares me. I’m not particularly skittish, so my foster mom wonders if I’ve maybe been hit a lot by previous owners.

Do you like cats?

I haven't had much experience with cats, but I would be curious! I didn’t pay much attention to the cat in my vet’s office, but who knows!

Do you have any doggie best friends?

I LOVE my best friend/foster sister, Lena! She’s a nutcase, but I do really well with her antics! I previously lived with other dogs and have been tested with other dogs when I was in the shelter. I get really excited, but I mean..I’m just so excited for another dog to meet me and admire my beauty!

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would be center stage at Miss America winning the swimsuit competition and finally earning the recognition I deserve for this bomb physique. (Kidding..Kidding..I would love to be in a home with a family! Getting lovins’ and treats!).

How is your health?

Girls don’t get this pretty from being in poor health, don’t ya know? I’m in great health! I was spayed at the end of September and though my incision got a little irritated and red, it healed just fine!

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?

I share a home with two foster moms, a pittie sister (Lena) and a pittie brother (Sully). Lena is my BFFEAEAEAEAEAEA.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone?

When no humans are home, I hang out in a crate! My mom has a heavy-duty crate for me because I’ve somehow wiggled my way through less-sturdy wire crates. I’m basically a contortionist, but my foster mom didn’t seem to appreciate that talent of mine.

Where do you sleep?

I sleep in my crate! Sometimes I snore so loudly that my foster mom can hear me from the other room. Beauty sleep isn’t quiet, okay?

What do you love about your foster family?

I love that they’ve given me a chance and are showing me the ropes of how to be part of a family! They’re great about giving me boundaries (teaching me to relax in my crate, discouraging me from jumping onto the couch, etc) so that I don’t rule the roost.

What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents?

Good question, but I’m not really sure. I was taken to a shelter in East St. Louis (St. Clair Animal Control) with three smaller dogs. We may have been a confiscate case, but I’m not sure why that happened. My foster mom noticed how gorgeous I was from my shelter photo and inquired about me! Some nice people helped take video of me at the shelter to show how sweet I am and the rest is history! The people at the shelter knew I was lovable and I’m grateful that they worked together with Even Chance to get me into a foster home.

Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they grow up. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the best living situation possible. We take very seriously the decision we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home. If I sound like the perfect pit bull for your and your family and you are interested in giving me a forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application here and my foster family will contact you to schedule an in-person meet and greet. We look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants.
