My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Shasta. I’m a 12 pound, 11 month old Wire Hair Terrier. I am one smart little girl. I got dumped out in the country and found help all by myself. I was tired, cold, hungry and thirsty. I finally found a house and the front door was open. The people were carrying boxes in and out. I toddled up the steps and right in the front door like I owned the place. I found a lady who was packing boxes. I pawed at her leg until she looked down and saw me. She called Fur Fun and they came and picked me up.
I’m in a foster home where I get fed twice a day and have people to sleep with and take care of me. I can do a lot of things on my own but I don’t have opposable thumbs. I could not get all the burs out of my fur on my own. Fur Fun had to wait 7 days to see if anyone was looking for me, if I could talk I would have told them nobody was. When the week was up I went to the vet and got all fixed up. I’m all up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested.
I love to snuggle with my people and happily chase my ball around the house. I’m crate trained, and I like to go for car rides and walks. I’m looking for a forever home with smart people. I can be a bit challenging at times. That’s because I’m smarter than many dogs and some people. If you let me, I’ll run your house. If you give me direction and rules, I’ll follow them. I”ll be honest, I need a home with a fenced yard. I’m a terrier and like to chase bunnies, squirrels and blowing leaves. If I’m chasing something I’m going to ignore you until I’m done. I don’t want to live with young kids and I would like to be the top dog in my house.
