My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name? Thor

How old are you? About 3-4 months.

How much do you weigh? 25-ish lbs.

What do you look like? I am big for my age. I have black, white, and brindle fur and really cute, big floppy ears that always get flipped inside out! I have very sweet, soulful, hazel eyes. I look like a mix between a pitty and a black lab.

What do you like to eat? Right now I am eating Taste of the Wild puppy kibble. I get training snacks sometimes which are nice but I’m not much of a foodie.

What kind of personality do you have? I love to explore! I’m becoming super confident especially when I have one of my dog brothers by my side. I love to play and snuggle!

Describe your perfect day: I love to start my day by playing outside for a while and eat my breakfast followed by a nice long nap in my crate. I’m a puppy so I still sleep a lot! When I wake up I go outside to play more. Rinse and repeat throughout the day!

What is your favorite toy? My absolute favorite is big chunks of tree “Bark” 😉. I also love the little baby socks my mom tied into knots and ropes are nice to chew on too.

Do you know any tricks? I am excellent at “sit”. When I’m told “get in your bed” I’ll go right into my crate. I’ve also leaned to sit and wait before being invited into the house. I am practicing come and shake.

What scares you? I’m not very used to riding in the car but Im sure I’ll learn to love it quickly enough.

Have you been around children? Do you like them? I have two young kids in my house right now and they’re so much fun. Sometimes I get too excited and jump on my sister and knock her down (she’s two) but I’m trying to get better. I love when my brother (he’s 5) throws a ball for me to chase or plays tug-of-war with me. And I never use them as chew toys, I have enough of my own!

Do you like cats? I really want to play with our cat but she’s kinda boring. She makes weird hissing sounds that make me give her some space.

How do you feel about other dogs? I love other dogs! They’re so much fun to play with and they teach me so much about listening and how to be brave and confident.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? Outdoors with my dogs and my people!

How is your health? Perfect!!

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with my foster mom and dad, brother and sister, my pitty brother and terrier brother, and the cat. I am very close to my pitty brother and my foster mom.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I stay in my crate.

Where do you sleep? My crate.

Do you like walking on a leash? I still need my last set of vaccinations so I don’t go for walks yet but I’ve been practicing a little bit around the yard. I’m getting use to it.

Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard? I bark when someone comes home but that’s because I’m just so excited!!

Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside) I’m So close! I know where I am supposed to go and I try but if I really have to go and I get excited I sprinkle a little.

Do you like playing in water? I love the rain!! I haven’t been in a pool or anything yet.

What do you love about your foster family? They’ve shown me how to be confident at brave and they give me lots of attention and play time.

What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue? I was born in the shelter but was rescued pretty quickly, thankfully!!!

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Thor's adoption donation is $350

Interested in meeting Thor or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
