My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION FEE WAIVED FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER!!

What is your name? Mia (and just keeping repeating in a sing-song voice)

How old are you? Just over a year old

How much do you weigh? I'm very slender between 40 and 50 pounds.

What do you look like? I'm a very pretty girl with reddish fur with white chest and the most expressive eyes you will ever see.

What do you like to eat? I'm on Nutro right now with the rest of the pack but I like all food.

What kind of personality do you have? I'm really a goofball but act shy and timid when I first meet you. Once I get to know you I'm a love bug who tries so hard to please and get your attention.

Describe your perfect day. My perfect day would start with a trip to the park or a long walk. After my walk I would like some play time in the yard but make sure to give me breakfast in between. I like to ball but I also like to snuggle for nap time. After nap time we need another play time and if you are up for a second walk that would be even better, I love my walks.

What is your favorite toy? I love balls. I have several chuck-it balls that I love to chew on and play fetch with, I even bring them back. If you have a tug rope I can entertain myself but like to play tug with you too.

Do you know any tricks? I am so smart. I know quite a few tricks. I can sit, stay, shake and high five. I also know stay but get distracted by the rest of the pack at my fosters house. By myself I do so well.

What scares you? Loud, sudden noises are scary at first. I also get a little afraid when first meeting new people or doing new things.

Have you been around children? Do you like them? I have not really been around children. I see them at the park but they make me nervous running and making loud noises. I should be in a home without small children.

Do you like cats? I live in a foster home with a kitty. She is so fun to play with when she will play with me. I love to sniff her and lick her but she doesn't always like that and will tell me. I back off when she says no

How do you feel about other dogs? I have never met a dog I didn't like. I am a little nervous around more than one dog when first meeting. One of one is great because I get all their play time.

If you could be anywhere in the world where would it be? I love playing in the yard but I also like laying on the sofa in my foster dads office while he works.

How is your health? Great! I am so active and have never been sick.

Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with my foster mom & Dad and I have 5 other dogs to play with. In addition to the dogs I also have my kitty foster sister. Athena, my foster sister is probably my closest animal friend although I do love my brother Moose. I am also really close to my foster Dad and work so hard learning all my manners and tricks to please him.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I stay in my create when I am home alone. I do get a little anxious when I am first left but I settle down with my ball to entertain me.

Where do you sleep? I can choose to sleep in my crate or on the foot of my foster parents bed.

Do you like walking on a leash. Oh yes. Walks are my favorite. Sometimes I may get very excited and you simply have to remind me to wait.

Do you have any "not-so-good" habits that we should know about? For instance do you bark or dig in the yard? I like to pull the grass out in the yard. I watch my foster sister grass but I would rather pull it up and run around with it. I used to get car sick but I seem to be doing better with that. I sometimes will look to see if you left any treats on the counter for me.

Are you house trained? Yes I never go potty in the house but I will sometimes tinkle a little if I get scared.

Do you like water? Oh yes. I want to run through every canal I see when we are walking. I love the small pond in my foster backyard and will just stand in it. I'm not sure if I can swim but I bet I can.

What do you love about your foster home? I love that I have a family that takes time to teach me and pay attention to me. I want to please so much and hope you see it in my eyes. I love my foster playmates and I love that my Mom and Dad always have praise for me for working so hard.
NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

The adoption donation for Mia is $200, but waived for the month of September!

Interested in meeting Mia or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
