My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trooper is ~9 years old. He was originally rescued from Greater Birmingham Humane Society in July 2013. He was adopted, however this past Christmas was found wandering lost. Fortunately his microchip traced him back to us. He is now being re-listed for adoption.

Trooper gets along well with other big dogs, small dogs, and has shown only curiosity toward cats. He does not appear to have a prey drive. He is currently fostered at a farm that has horses, other dogs and chickens. He is very smart and quickly learns and adapts to routines.

Trooper is friendly and loves attention; he has a very sweet and affectionate nature. This is a dog who will make a wonderful companion and friend with minimal continued training. He will adjust quickly and easily to a new home environment.

Trooper has a condition called Addisons Disease. It's treatable, but not curable. He is stabilized and will require a monthly injection by his vet to keep this condition in check. The injection cost will vary by vet - but is approximately $150 per month.
