My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy is a Beagle mix, neutered and about 4 years old. Buddy has been a companion dog for a disabled man until this month when I took over his care when the owners became unable to keep him. I am very fond of Buddy and everybody that knows Buddy is very fond of him, but I am relocating to another state and cannot take Buddy with me. He is a good Doggy and a great pet.

In January I started his veterinarian care with a VCA CareClub wellness plan at VCA Greenback Animal Hospital, 8311 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, Ca 95628. 916-725-1541. He has had a complete checkup, updated vaccinations, etc. and the Anesthesia Dentistry procedure. He has 1 Wellness exam and 3 CareClub Checkup Exams remaining for this year.

Buddy is quite smart and well behaved. He is mild mannered and he very rarely barks. Buddy generally likes people including children. He gets along well and likes to play with other house dogs. When he needs to go out for a potty break he will come and get me. When we go for a walk he will occasionally see something that triggers him to “Point” raising one leg off the ground and standing very still and waits until you acknowledge him. I have a Kitty who has never been exposed to a dog before, so at first I kept them in separate areas. After some supervised visits where Buddy was scolded for chasing the kitty, Buddy now refrains from chasing or barking at the kitty and Aleister the Kitty is feeling less threatened as they become accustomed to each other, but I don’t leave them alone together at this point. I believe they would continue to develop an amiable relationship given more time.
