Hi! I‘m Spriggs, an adorable male Shar-Pei rescued from a NC shelter. I am a lovable little guy! I have been great with the children that I have met. I do jump all over them and can get rough, so we think a family with older children would be best. I have learned not to jump as much during training but will need continued training. I have absolutely no food aggression.
I have been great with most of the people I have met and just love my foster mommy, but I get extremely upset around my foster dad. I am ok with some men, but I must have had a bad experience in my past. I have not been able to calm down and get so nervous and upset that we need to find a new foster home or adoptive family for me.
I seemed to be ok with dogs at first, but we now think that I should be an only dog. I did not do well living with one of the other dogs at my foster home, and a trainer that I am working with thinks it would be best if I am the only dog in the household. I do fine with the younger dog at my foster home, and we play very well together. I guess I am selective about my friends! I did learn to have MUCH better manners during my training, but I do need a foster or adopter who will continue my training.
