My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Posted 7/10/17. Updated 11/10/17. Woody is a very sweet (with people!!) about 7-9 year old Miniature poodle boy who came to us from a local animal shelter. Upon arrival last summer, he was in a very sorry state and extremely depressed. He could barely walk, due to stiffness from being confined in a cage. He was infested with fleas, severely matted, hair stuck to his teeth, (he lost a loose tooth as soon as we tried to clean the hair out of his mouth), and we weren't sure he had the will to live. After several months in foster care, we feel Woody is now ready for a loving forever home. Woody is super sweet with people but is very selective with other dogs. Some he gets along with just fine and others he simply does not like which translates into him barking at them and trying to pick a fight. So he would actually do best as an only dog. He really does not care for canine companionship and just wants to be adored by his human(s). He is just fine around cats. Overall Woody is very well behaved, he LOVES to eat and one has to be careful not to overfeed him as it would not be good for his overall health. He loves going for walks and scamper around in the fenced in yard. What he loves most is being with his people. He curls up on your lap or right next to you on the couch and mutters content. It is really cute when he does that. Woody is house broken and does go to the door when he needs to go potty. HOWEVER he does mark his territory. We are not sure whether he feels compelled to do so because there are other dogs in the foster home and it would stop once he has "claimed" his new place. Woody does well in a crate with a cozy dog bed while his humans are out. He is truly a sweet boy, just should be an only pup. For Woody we are looking for a home with a securely fenced in yard and humans who can give him a lot of snuggle time. Woody is neutered, he is current on vaccinations, he tested negative for heartworm, he is current on heartworm/flea prevention, he had a dental (thorough cleaning and some extractions) and he had a senior panel (blood work) which showed he is perfectly healthy. If you are interested in giving this cutie a loving forever home please fill out an adoption application on our web site inthenest.net (an application has to be filled out prior to setting up a meeting). Woody's adoption fee is $250. No small children please.
