Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Oh CHARLIE!!!!! Such a wonderful surprise!! We didn't hear that much about him beforehand.. just that he was a good boy.. his photo was nice enough but not at all as beautiful as he actually is! He's got a shimmery shiny black coat with a patch of unique coloring on his chest and glossy touches of brown on his limbs, a magnificent bottom lip and deep soulful brown eyes! He does the side to side head tilt when he's really really listening!! So darn cute!!
Charlie just arrived to us on the last transport. He bounced off the transport van, eyes wide , tail sweepy happy.. greeted every member of the staff with a happy, sweet, melt in a puddle at your feet doggie hello!! Everyone enjoyed meeting Charlie! Then we watched as the rather large "Bellaboa" came joyously bounding over to him .. no panic... instead, he performed an adorable play bow to which she immediately agreed.. YAY! Lets play!! So they sniffed and danced and pranced and played!! Each time Charlie felt a bit overwhelmed by Bella's XL exuberance he gave up his belly and waited for her to relax. He has some very nice social ability .. can read and feel accurately and responds in a "Hey, lets just be cool" way. AWESOME! We do give all our dogs time to settle in and show us more about themselves, but his behavior on day one... really nice to see! There's a lot of great qualities to work with!! A lot!
While out on his first tour of the farm Charlie was eager and thrilled to see and sniff so many new things.. He was easy to call back to attention.. and even on his own chose to check in with a glance like.. "is this good?Is this right?" Charlie walked right into the horse barn .. he was curious and appropriately cautious.. returning to his handler when he wanted to observe in safety! Charlie was wonderfully attuned to energy of his handler.. If she was relaxed and calm.. he was relaxed and calm!!
