My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Black Beauty is a 12 year adult female- Map Turtle- She was named by the clinic staff due to the color of her shell. She was surrendered 3/2016 because her owner no longer wanted to care for her after 10 years and could not afford the medical care she was in desperate need of due to shell rot and being septic. It was touch and go for a very long time but after almost a year of antibiotics, shell scrubs and dry docking, and almost another year of getting her acclimated back to water- putting on weight etc., Black Beauty is ready to find her forever home- she enjoys her goldfish, earthworms, mealworms, crickets, and pellets- she is hand-able by children. Currently allowed to cruise the house for a little while during the day with the cats and dogs, she does fantastic. Please do your research on these turtles as they can live up to 50 years. Black Beauty's adoption fee is $10.00. Please live within driving distance as we will not ship her.
