My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy Partner, the name's Redd.  As you can see from my picture, I'm.. well.. red! You might also notice a bit of crook in my front leg.  Now being a basset that would seem to be quite normal. However, my crook has given me quite the limp. You see, before CBHR came along and helped me out I broke my leg. Dr. said he can't tell when it happened, but since it didn't get medical attention right away it healed badly.  What you can't see from a still photo is that I pretty much don't use that leg.  Yup, I am sort of a tripod cowboy. The bone doctor also said the best thing for me is to have my leg amputated. I know that seems scary to a lot of you humans, but I'm not worried.  I have seen many of my three-legged buddies and they do just great!  It won't stop me from continuing to be the cuddly, mushy love bug of a basset that I am.  I will have to practice how to 'use' the tree though as I am a perfect gentleman and have impeccable manners when it comes to knowing inside from outside.  Luckily, I love other dogs and see cats as entertainment, not lunch.  Even with three legs I may entertain myself by keeping the kitties on their toes, no getting by me! Once I get stable on my three legs I will be searching for a permanent home to hang my hat, make camp, and enjoy some good grub.  Do you have room in your heart and home to help out this cowboy? 01/08/13
