My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maggie is a ball of fire. Typical beagle with nose to the ground looking for a fun time. She would be good with someone who knows beagles and love the breed.
Fenced yard would be great so she could run and investigate without getting hurt. A vet reference would be a must. Small children might find Maggie has too much energy for them to keep up with her.

The following is what t he owner who turned her in had to say about her.
Description of pet

She is about 1-2 years, very shy and sweet, and is great around other dogs. She loves kids, and really enjoys playing in the yard. She walks well on the leash, and is not food aggressive. She sleeps in her crate every night, and doesn’t mind. She is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and has her rabies and license tags. She is tiny - she’s about 30 pounds and is very slender. She almost looks like a whippet-beagle mix.
Maggie was originally adopted at the adopthaton from the Nassau HS. When she did not work out at the adopter's home they tried to take her to ACPS but because she was adopted from the Nassau HS they would not take her in. Nassau would not take her as the adopter lived in Duval county instead of Nassau. Maggie had no place to go.
She is very food motivated and would be good in a puppy class as she is smart and eager to please. She is a typical Beagle.
To adopt Maggie you must have a fenced yard, a vet reference, no small children as Maggie might play too rough and you must be a resident of the Jacksonville area.
