My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Now introducing PonyBoy, a stunning 2 year old Cane Corso pup that’s the paragon of perfection! Here are 10 things Pony wants his future family to know about him:

1. When I was just a pup, I was hit by a car. The impact broke my leg pretty badly. Luckily the Bullpen found me at the shelter and took me to the veterinarian, who did lots of surgery to make me better. I have regained full mobility, but I may have some stiffness in that leg when I get older.

2. Like many Cane Corsos, I can be wary of strangers, and I need to be introduced to new people and visitors slowly. Once I feel comfortable, though, I’m a total lovebug!

3. My old foster home had kids between the ages of 7-12, and I loved them. If my new people had children with experience/training with giant breed dogs, I think it would be a good fit.

4. My ideal family would have a big female dog that I could play with.

5. I haven’t had the opportunity to meet many small/medium sized dogs, so I’m not sure how I feel about living in a home with them.

6. I haven’t spent much time in the company of cats, but I am curious about them. I may be able to cohabitate with some, given a slow and proper introduction.

7. I am happy and affectionate boy, and I really like being outdoors, playing fetch, and chewing sticks!

8. I know basic obedience, and I’m crate trained, housebroken, and good on a leash.

9. Sometimes when I get excited, I get “mouthy.” I know I shouldn’t do it, and my new family will need to keep working with me to break the habit.

10. I am current on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered.

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a "perfect placement" so we know that they will not be failed again.
