My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lily is a 2 year old, tri-colored female border collie. Lily, along with her littermate Zack, was surrendered by a family she’d been with since puppyhood, but had an infant with severe allergies to dog hair.

Lily is a super-cuddler. If there were an Olympic event for snuggling, Lily would win “The Gold” every single time! She loves people and is happiest near someone’s side, snoozing while getting a nice rub-down. Lily has not had a lot of experience with dogs other than the one she lived with previously and her foster home is working with socialization skills. Typical of a female BC, Lilly likes to be in charge, and may prefer the company of a male canine companion that will appreciate her diva-ness. Lily is fully housebroken and out of her puppy years, but is still learning some manners and basic obedience, like not jumping up. She’s a fast learner and loves receiving praise. Positive reinforcement goes a long way with Lily! Lily gets a little worried when alone, so would benefit from human and/or canine company through much of the day. Lily knows basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘down’ and ‘stay,’ but typical of her diva nature, she isn’t always as immediately compliant as she should be. Consistent continued training will help with this.

Lily will flirt with people in order to get attention – she lays her ears back and squints her eyes while shimmying up close for a rub, will burrow her nose under your leg or arm and nudge you into petting her, and will wake you up in the morning by sliding up along side of you and nuzzling her nose in your neck. She loves to be touching a person at all times, even if it’s just to keep her paw on your foot.

Lily is spayed, current on vaccinations and fostered in a loving home near Laramie, Wyoming.
