| My boyfriend and I rescued Rome from the MCSPCA in March of 2017. His previous owners had abused and isolated him when he was growing up. He's terrified of most things but when he loves you, he loves you with everything he has. He is by far the smartest and most loyal dog I've ever had (and I've had dogs my entire life and I worked at the MCSPCA). Rome is an at home kind of dog. He's also the worlds greatest cuddler. He loves to relax and lounge on the couch with you. He would be best in a home with someone who is by themselves, has a fenced in yard, without any other animals or people. The reason for that is, Rome doesn't like other dogs or animals, he wants all of the attention (except he likes our 1 other dog so over time I think he could get used to another). He also doesn't like strangers. When people go to pet his head, he'll bite their hands. I'm not going to lie, he's not an easy dog. He requires attention and alertness but he's worth it all. The reason we need to rehome him is because we're planning to have a baby soon and we can't risk it. We DON'T want to take him to a shelter because we know he will immediately be put to sleep. We're praying that someone out there would give our boy the most perfect home! |
