Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Astrid started her adoption journey as a cruelty case. She was surrendered, near death, by her previous owner weighing only 29 lbs with her bones rubbing through her fragile skin.
Since her rescue, Astrid entered foster care with Dog People of Livingston and is making a miraculous recovery. She now weighs 70 lbs and is on a regular diet. She's a kind dog, who loves every human she meets and loves to wrestle and snuggle with the other dogs in her foster home.
Astrid's learned to play with toys and other dogs in her foster home. She also learned about treats. She's a huge fan of treats and toys. She prefers to sleep underneath the covers of her foster mom's bed. She also collects the shoes of her foster dad. She doesn't eat them, she just likes to sniff them.
Astrid is a Doberman/Great Dane mix who is about 2 years old. She still has plenty of puppy energy. She's house and crate-trained and very motivated to please her humans. Due to malnutrition, she likely won't get much bigger.
Her future owners should know that Astrid comes with a fan club of people that helped her survive and thrive, so they'll be eager to visit and check in on her as she ventures into her forever home. She definitely would do better in a home with another high energy dog for her to play with and build up her confidence.
