My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Len is a 2.5 year old male cat that had a rough start in life. He was one of dozens of cats dumped at an old abandoned church in a very rural area in autumn. Len was trapped and brought to the local animal shelter. He had a hole in the side of his jaw and was very weak and frail. Despite his poor condition, Len was a sweetie. He purred and wanted tons of love.

Two years and five oral surgeries later, Len is now a healthy cat. He had a condition where his body attacked any tarter on his teeth. As a result, they removed all of his teeth and he is now toothless.

Len has a forever kitten appearance. He is petite. Just 6 pounds. He acts just like a normal cat. He eats dry food. (And has a very hard time eating wet food.) Climbs the indoor cat tree. Finds his foster mom and tells her all about it if his dinner is late. Lays on his fostermom's chest blocking the television in his eagerness to be patted.

Len takes time to warm up to new people, which is a direct result of being handled way too often in a veterinarian hospital. Once he trusts you he is a very friendly outgoing lap cat. Len dislikes being picked up though. He will come when called if he knows a treat is waiting for him.

Also due to his surgical past, Len thinks he is always hungry. (Most cats do!) He will gorge himself if free fed and needs his meals to be measured to ensure he does not become overly obese.
He is easily bullied by bossy cats and reactive dogs. He does get along well with older and/or mellow cats and dogs.

Len's ideal home is indoor only with a mellow cat or dog friend.

Len is currently located in East Tennessee and will be transported to a pick up location near you once adopted. An application can be found at http://sodoa.weebly.com/apply.html and then emailed to sodoatn@gmail.com.
