My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Walter will be at the West Michigan Pet Expo April 6 and 7 at the Delta Plex in Grand Rapids, Michigan if you want to see him in person!

Walter is an amazing cat, and that is no exaggeration. Tyson's Place Animal Rescue's mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets. Walter came to us last year after his owner had died. He provided great companionship for his owner, and after a few months, he found a new owner. His new owner was elderly and had some medical issues, and Walter became her loyal companion. They loved each other, and both benefited from the companionship. They blossomed. Due to medical issues. Walter's owner had a habit of falling asleep siting up in places throughout the house, making her a fall risk. Walter did his best to keep her awake or wake her up until she could safely get back into bed. Can you imagine the depth of their bond, that Walter knew she needed him the most. Unfortunately, one time she fell asleep and fell over, hitting her head. For her own safety, she is moving into a nursing home, leaving Walter once again without his beloved owner.

Walter is a sweet, loving cat that likes to sit in laps and enjoys human companionship. Though he is 14 years old, he is very youthful and doesn't act his age. He is healthy, though he does require a prescription diet - it costs just as much as a regular, good cat food, and we would be happy to set you up with food as part of his adoption.

Walter would do best as the only cat, because he thinks he is the king of other cats. He may be able to live with dogs and would be fine with kids that are gentle with him. He can be a bit shy at first so a quiet home would be best.
