My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bailey is a handsome terrier mix (maybe ratty and Boston??) who got returned to our program after being adopted for 5 years. He is a little timid, but he is super sweet. He takes treats gently from your hands. Let's give this boy a second chance at forever!

From his foster Dad - Bailey can be low key most of the time. It took a while to get him to go out in the yard, but now he loves it. He will fuss with the others at the neighbor's dogs. He also seems to want to patrol the fence, as if it's his duty. He comes in when called. He gets excited a meal time, and will dash to his spot. At times, he has had issues with the other foster dogs but usually he wants to hang out with them. He still has some nervousness and may snip in fear if scared so someone with a gentle approach is needed and young kids would not be a good match. He does like being petted and he likes napping on the sofa, the arm of my chair, or the big blue pet bed!To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

More about this rescue

Long Way Home was created to provide the last stop for animals displaced from their homes, deemed "unadoptable" by other rescues, or that need a level of care their previous owners or other shelters are unable or unwilling to provide.
