Introducing the wonderfully cute and awesome Max. Max is an adorable and loving 1 yo aussie looking for his furever home. Max loves people, dogs, chasing lizards, going for walks, car rides, cuddles, playing at the dog park, learning new commands, and giving kisses. He is a strong young aussie and is learning to walk politely on the leash. He is currently working on sit, down, wait, focus, and not jumping. Max can be an escape artist through doors, but is learning not to go out the door before his owner - it's a work in process so his new owner should be careful about opening doors. However, if he does escape just drive along following him and open the door to call him with a happy voice and he'll jump right in the car. Max loves to walk in the rain and play in water puddles. He doesn't really like getting a bath, but will tolerate it. Max is a good eater, and doesn't have any resource guarding issues. He will not eat more dog food than he needs; when he is full he leaves the rest of the food in his bowl for later. Max is a counter surfer, though, so his owner should not leave food or medicines on the counter where Max can get to them.
Max loves to cuddle at night until you fall asleep, and then he goes to lay by the door til morning. Max is an early riser and always wakes you up with kisses and a smile. He is housebroken, fully vetted, UTD on all shots, current on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped. Max does not like to be in a crate, but can be alone in the house during the work day without causing any damage. He is not destructive or aggressive. He loves to play with fluffy toys and will get his toys out of his toy basket and bring them to you so you can play with him. He especially likes you to throw the ball/toy so he can catch it and then run.
Max is one of the happiest dogs I have ever known. He has a high energy level so going to the dog park makes him very happy. He does well with the other dogs, and is dog friendly, but usually just likes to run around on his own. He comes back home calm, tired, and ready to rest. Max might make a great agility dog as he is able to jump high and loves to play catch.
Max would do well in a home with older children, or children who are not afraid of an active dog. He will be an awesome family pet for an active family.
