My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sadie is a beautiful black and silver female who was saved from a rural shelter in Florida. She is about 5 years old but you can tell that life has not been kind to her. She's missing tips of her ears :-(
Sadie is very sweet and friendly with people, but not great with with other dogs and definitely would like nothing more than to chase any cat she sees. She does accept the dogs around her without barking or growling at them but just occasionally lashes out at them and attempts to bite them. She zeros in on other dogs on her walks but listens to “leave it” pretty well and is able to walk past them without acting up even when the other dogs bark and lunge at her. She loves to chase squirrels, cats, birds, bunnies, and lizards. The squirrels seem to be her favorite and she will chase them and jump up close to the fence to where her head is level with the top of the fence so a 6’ fence would be best for her. Sadie is completely housebroken and does great in her crate. She does great in the car and hops in and out on her own. Although she is not allowed on the furniture in her foster home, she will occasionally check to see if the rules have changed and jump up to sit on the couch. Sadie absolutely loves people and even though she has not really been around small children, we are confident that she will do just fine. Aside from not being great with other animals (although she behaves around them) she should be considered the perfect dog. All she wants is attention and to be loved and she is super sweet. She wants to please and does whatever is ask of her. She is very smart and learns quickly. She is familiar with a prong collar for walks because she still wants to pull but she does great. She is pretty mellow. She will play hard for about 10 minutes but then slows down and just chills out at your feet. She loves to be pet, kissed, and loves to give paws. Her only minus is that she is dog selective. Her plusses are that she listens well and that she is very loyal and affectionate. Sadie is always happy. She is not a barker and will not guard the house. Her adoption fee is $250.
