I’m still pretty new to this rescue thing, so please bear with me as I get more and more adjusted at my new foster home. I'm sure there will be a lot more updates as time goes on.
So far, my favorite thing to do is get as much attention from my people as possible. I love to play with other dogs. Doesn’t matter to me if they’re male or female, as long as they want to play with me, I’m cool with that! Maybe that’s why they also call me “Cool Hand Luke”. Cats. Well, my current foster home has a cat, and she doesn’t really come out yet. I’ve met her, and we’ve touched noses a couple times and I’ve licked her. And so far I seem to really like her. So, I think with proper introductions, I can co-exist with dog savvy cats.
I also lived with children in my previous homes, from ages 2 and up. Even though I’m good with kids, I’d still monitor me at all times with them because I’m so big, I could easily knock a toddler over!
I’ve become my foster mom’s latest shadow! Oh, and she has a few things to say about me:
Lucas is a very special, resilient boy. He came from a home of neglect and was kept outside, which is heartbreaking because all he wants is to be with his people. I assumed that he was not housebroken when he came into my home, but so far, no accidents! He’s also extremely underweight and has some coat issues. We think this is due to food allergies and malnutrition, so we are currently working through that and putting some meat on his bones! Once we get him at optimum weight, he’s going to be a very big boy as he is naturally very tall in stature. He is an absolute sweetheart and steals the hearts of everyone he meets. He’s affectionate, gentle, confident and goofy all at the same time. He already knows basic commands: sit, down, stay (kind of ), and come. He also walks beautifully on a lead. He can also get up on his hind legs and give huge bear hugs! Please consider giving our boy a loving, active home that will let him be a part of the family. This will be his third home, so let's make it his forever one!
