My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yup, my name is Blue, since I have the most gorgeous blue eyes. I was on limited time and Moonsong swooped in and got me. Whew it was a close call. There is a lot of that happening lately.

I was a stray, so Moonsong doesn’t really know my age, but guess me to be about 2. I am currently fostered with a pawsome family in Bozeman, MT, and they are learning more and more about me each day. They think I must have had some children in my prior life, their 9-year-old son is my absolute favorite bestie! I crawl up on his lap on the couch, or cuddle next to him in bed and he reads to me. It is so soothing…. Yup, I could be a lap dog if I wasn’t so big!

I love to go for walks, when I hear the jingle of the leash, I get really excited! You will need to make sure and keep an eye on the door so I don’t scoot out without you. Maybe if you enjoy running, I could be a running partner (on leash, of course). Or we could learn how to skijor together, wouldn’t that be fun?

I love the other dogs in my foster home, we hit it off right away. And the doggie door is so cool (what a great invention), I can come and go to the house and yard when I need to. I ride great in a car, maybe we could go on adventures together. Like all huskies, I will require a securely fenced yard. Maybe that’s why I ended up in doggie jail, someone didn’t do their homework about huskies.

Please consider bringing me into your life, I am a really special boy. I am current on vaccinations, chipped and neutered. Reach out to Moonsong and it will be the best decision you ever make!

More about this rescue

We're glad you stopped by to check out our Mallies in need of their "furever" homes! We are federally recognized non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to assisting Alaskan Malamutes and their owners when in crisis throughout the Intermountain West. Please be aware that Moonsong Malamute Rescue (MMR) is not a shelter or humane society. We are affiliated with the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL), which is the national rescue organization recognized by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. As an affiliate to AMAL, MMR operates under AMAL's code of ethics.

We offer educational material about the Alaskan Malamute breed, can assist in resolving containment issues, are able to help an owner with appropriately re-homing their Malamute when necessary, and provide behavioral issues support in the form of referrals to trainers and other more experienced Malamute owners. These funds are also used to help care for Malamutes with adoptable personalities who have been pulled from shelters, or who have been seized by authorities after having been abandoned, neglected, or abused.
