My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Pearl, a name chosen for me since it took me a little longer to come out of my shell….or technically oyster! A kind woman took me and so many more homeless cats and kittens off the streets in an area of SW Philly where humans sadly have been known to hurt us. With no resources or contacts to help us find a deserving family, she reached out to Kitty Junction for help as she was struggling to provide food and vet care for all for us. Sadly due to circumstances that had nothing to do with me, I have been bounced from foster home to foster home 4 times. It has been difficult for me to build up a trust and become confident in my surroundings so I can be very shy in the beginning until I get to know you.

It has taken me a little while to trust my new foster parents, but each and every day we learn something new about each other. My favorite toy is a feather on a string and it flies around like a bird. I love to chase it and I puff my tail up to look big and scary to make sure I succeed in my hunt! I like to take care of my nails on my cardboard scratchers and sometimes I flop on top of them too. I like to talk and let you know I am ready for breakfast or just let you know I am around:) I used to think people were very scary and that they all didn’t like me. I have now learned that humans are very nice and when they put out their hand it is to pet me. I know you will pet me if you wiggle your fingers, then I know it is safe. If you scratch the base of my tail get ready for a flop! Getting pettings is new to me, but I really like it! Because I am still a little shy, a family with no small children, dogs or other cats that may pick on me would be the best for me:)

I am learning to trust each and every day. I am looking for a home that can give me the attention I deserve but also the patience I need. Once I come around to you I promise to love you endlessly as long s you do the same!

If you are looking for a sweet and loyal companion I am your girl! Please don't hesitate to fill out an adoption application for me at www.KittyJunction.org or if you have any questions at all about me please email KittyJunction@aol.com!!
