This is Deke, and he is a 3-4 year old male, beautiful Akita who was taken from his owner by animal control authorities and brought to to our shelter on February 9th. Deke has come a long way since he first arrived; he is still somewhat timid, but you can see him actually want to play and interact with us now that he trusts us. He is a well mannered, yet powerful dog and best suited in a home that knows this breed. Deke might do best in a home with older children, and he will make the right family a wonderful companion. Come over for a visit with him!

# $50 adoption fee. Deke is already neutered and housebroken.

We welcome adoptions from people living out of the area or out of the state of Virginia. The application process is completed in person at the shelter.
