Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Friday the 13th was an unlucky day for poor Sarge, when his companion had to surrender him to the shelter due to a move to a residence that will not allow cats. Sarge is a very social and affectionate cat and is a little distressed to find himself living in a cage most of the day and competing with several other cats for his volunteer companions’ time and affections when he’s granted liberty. He’s a big guy so the stockade is a bit confining for him — he probably feels like he’s been busted down to Private! He has alpha tendencies and is a little frustrated that he needs to assert his role among all the new cats in his life. He loves hanging out with his volunteers and being a part of everything they’re doing, and bellows like a Master Sergeant when it’s time for him to return to his cage. Sarge is 13 years old, and it feels so unfair that he no longer has a home with a loving companion, especially after so many years in service. We think a quieter home is best for Sarge, as the activity of children and other cats makes him agitated, even though he is a very happy cat with his human companions.
Despite his years, Sarge appears to be in very good health, with so signs of any age-related concerns. He has healthy eyes, ears, coat and teeth, and though he’s a little on the “bulky” side, he’s not terribly overweight. Sarge is box-trained, neutered, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia.
