Minnie's Story:
Mom & Dad @ RRR were contacted by One by One Animal Advocates in Huntington, WV about a senior chihuahua. The 16 year old chihuahua was an owner surrender to Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Control Shelter. Unfortunately, the owner requested the dog be euthanized, since the pet was 16 years old, had a mass on her rectum, and was the pet of her late husband. The owner was leaving on vacation, and desired for the chihuahua to be euthanized. The dog warden at the control shelter asked if the owner was returning for the remains of her late husband's pet, and she did not want the dog's body. One by One was contacted to send the dog to rescue instead and give her a chance to live out the rest of her life, since the dog seemed still full of energy and in good overall health otherwise.

Mom and Dad @ RRR agree, Minnie still has many good times ahead of her.
RRR has named this senior chihuahua, Minnie. She has had all of her vetting completed, and surgery to remove the tumor for her rectum. Minnie is spayed and micro chipped. She lives with big and small dogs in her foster home, but prefers a dog companion that does not have a lot of energy. Minnie also would be agreeable to not having any canine siblings, she is content without a companion dog around.

Minnie is ready to find her retirement home to live out the rest of her good days. If you have experience with senior dogs and have a comfortable home (and lap), Minnie will be the perfect fit. Please consider opening your home to adoptable Minnie.
