My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meghan Markle is a love. She follows her foster mom around wherever she goes and normally has her small tennis ball in her mouth. They bought her a 12 pack of balls and she literally jumped for joy. She LOVES to play ball and is extremely smart.

Meghan is a TINY princess- very pretty and delicate. Meggie loves to sleep and nap right up next to you. Though she is only almost 9 pounds, she generates a LOT of heat under the blankets. She sleeps on her back and lets her tiny teeth poke out. It’s adorable.

Meghan is housetrained and learned to use the doggy door on the very first day but she is more interested in staying inside with her humans. She doesn’t join the others for squirrel patrol or to explore the yard. She goes out, does her business and comes right back in. She likes the comforts of home and all of the fine things it provides. Also, she eats like a horse. No issues there. She loves food and is the first one in line at 7 AM and 5 PM.

Meghan makes these sweet little noises (normally to tell you see wants to play ball again) but she never, ever barks. Meghan does not have an aggressive bone in her body. She is very kind natured. Cats, kids, new people—all the same to her. Her little tail wags 24/7 and her happiness is contagious.

Meghan loves to give kisses- she gives many to her foster family every day to let them know she is happy and also shares some with her foster fur-sibling. Meghan will be a joy to any home. She is a very easy houseguest, transitions well and makes people smile. Any family who adopts her will be lucky to have her.

If you are interested in adopting Meghan Markle, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform2.shtml . Meghan Markle 's adoption fee is $300. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Meghan Markle will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
