My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated October 2020:
Bella is a 2-year-old hound/bulldog mix and weighs 50 lbs... As she has grown into adulthood, her body resembles a greyhound more and more - and you should see her run! She's spayed, microchipped, up-to-date with vaccines, and is on flea/heartworm prevention... She is energetic, active and very curious, but does settle down and sleeps through the night - frequently with a human companion. She's house-trained and uses a doggie door.

Bella is longing for a family of her very own! She's loves people and food and should be easy to train. She's highly intelligent and is a bit of a "licker"!!! She's smart and we're seeing her vocabulary grow quickly. She wants to be with you - and is very smart - she's been known to open gate latches to join her family. She'll need an owner that loves her and will keep her safe. She gets along well with other dogs and is gentle with pups and smaller dogs, and loves to take car rides.

Bella and her sister, Lily, are special girls. Their previous owner neglected to provide the vaccines needed to protect them from the parvo virus... When they started having symptoms he did bring them to the vet... But when the diagnosis of parvo was confirmed, he chose to euthanize them instead of starting medical treatment... But obviously that's not where this story ends... Our wonderful doctors and vet team couldn't let that happen and they convinced the man to surrender ownership of them to the vet team, and the girls were immediately started on life-saving medications. Their strong spirits helped pull them through!! Today, Bella is happy and healthy... (Her sister, Lily, was adopted in May 2020.)

Like any other dog, there will be a bit of a learning curve and transition for her... If you'd like to meet Bella, please call/text Jody at 352-316-5155.
