My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Pita lost her human Dad, Joe, in May when h e passed away after suffe ring from a stroke and dementia. Joe  received Pita as a gift from his brother who got her as a puppy from the local shelter.  Pita was very loved and well taken care of by Joe. She followed him every step he took until the very end . She now loves to follow her foster mom's every step and lays at her feet while she cooks, sews or works on her computer. She is very sweet, gentle and affectionate. She will suckle on her blue pillow or her blanket that came from her home with her Dad. She also likes to go for walks and knows several commands (a list can be provided). She will make the right person or family an absolutely great companion.

In an ideal situation, Pita would love an older retired couple/person or someone who works from home, maybe even a fur brother or fur sister to keep her company as well. She needs a loving, attentive human that she can bond with and who will let her live out the rest of her life loved, wanted and cared for. Her foster siblings have been varying ages (puppy to adult) and she does well with all of them. Pita is used to not being allowed on the furniture, so you may have to coax or invite her for her to join you on the sofa. She is also crate and potty trained and when left alone unsupervised is crated and will go in her crate on command. She will also need someone who is willing to manage her weight loss by feeding her an appropriate diet and taking her for regular walks.

Please read below for instructions on how to apply:

*As a purely foster based rescue, we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Pita's Adoption Fee is $375 which includes transport from Louisiana to Seattle, all vetting (including a full health exam, spay/neuter & up to date on shots), and micro-chipping.
