Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Belle is a Shih Tzu who may have some Havanese mixed in. She is about 3 years old and weighs 9 pounds. She was horribly matted when she was found as a stray and had to be shaved down to get all the mats off. Her hair has grown back in now. She tangles easily so her new family needs to be prepared to take her to a groomer regularly. Belle gets along very well with the other dogs in her foster home and really enjoys playing with them, but she also likes to get all your attention. She is very sweet and is normally quiet except when she wants to eat, go outside, or play and then she will bark to let you know. Belle loves to play fetch and will run after a toy and will then bring it back to let you throw it again. However, she would MUCH prefer to have another dog who will play with her. She is housebroken but does not like to go out in the rain. She would make a great companion for someone who is home more often than not. Please note that we do not recommend Belle to families with children under 7.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
