My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!***
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet.
Mai Tai Cavalier/spaniel mix, 3 years old, 17.10 lbs tri color 3 years old.

Sweet, sweet Mai Tai how she ended up in the shelter we will never know yet again how could anyone drop her off at the shelter, she is such a sweet girl & needs someone to love her.

Mai Tai was from a kill shelter in CA & we rescued her & got her medically treated in CA & went to a loving foster home in CA where her foster mum bathed her every couple of days in a special medicated shampoo because of her skin in areas was like old weathered leather as if she had been out in the sun for quite a while & as if she had never been bathed before.

Mai Tai is super sweet & trusting once she knows you, she maybe shy at first until she knows you & trusts you but then once she does she is very loving & affectionate.

Loves to play with toys & balls & loves to be socializing with everyone in the room people or dogs.
Her new in foster mom WA has been putting coconut oil on her dry areas of her skin after bathing her.

Mai Tai is a spayed female mix cavalier spaniel mix we think, what she is mixed with we do not know. She weighs roughly 17.10 lbs, is up to date on her shots, heart worm negative, chipped, loves all other dogs, great with people, we have not had her around children or cats before.

Mai Tai has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so this would be up to the new family to be responsible with.

We do not know for sure what breed Mai Tai is & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.

As with all of our rescues & Mai Tai friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training will in fact take them to training.

Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Mai Tai & going through the process and have read her listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Mai Tai that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.

Mai Tai has an adoption fee of $675 & is ready for her forever home.
I will be getting neutered by laser, chipped, up to date on all my shots, heart worm negative, had a titer test done which means I have no tick borne diseases, I was dewormed twice & treated for cocidia & giardia.
**IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ**
An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well.
As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves.
Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding.
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
