My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Smokey Joe is singing the blues!

This 8 year old lovebug has led a life hard enough for 3 lifetimes, yet he somehow found multiple misfortunes all to himself. Smokey Joe arrived as a stray, when he'd been found wandering near a local apartment community. With his unneutered status, and grimy appearance, it was apparent he'd been left to fend for himself for quite sometime. Thinking that was the only hurdle he had to encounter in life, we then learned during his neuter appointment that he was FIV+. Get your blues guitar riff ready for this, because we also discovered that with his age and lack of care he endured, his teeth were in appalling condition. As such, he was recently treated to a much needed dental procedure...he now sports just two single pearly whites- the kitty tooth fairy decided she needed the rest for her collection.

what is heartbreaking is the fact that as much hardship as Smokey Joe has endured, his heart and his ability to love remains unblemished. A simple glance in his direction will start the rythmic flex in his paws that cat lovers will instantly recognize as a contented boy. And while he recovers from his surgeries, he still wants nothing more than to purr or arch himself into your direction, showing a loving nature that knows no boundaries.

Smokey Joe would make a FABULOUS feline friend for a lonely grandma/grandpa, or just a single person who would like a "purr"pose for coming home. He will be a snuggly and loving companion...the question though is, can you handle it??

If you would like to put a happy spin on the song Smokey Joe has been singing, stop in and visit him today. Be fair warned- you will fall in love! :)
