My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Captain Jack is a Maine Coon/Domestic Long Hair (DLH)-mix, male, 3 months of age.

Don’t let the fact that he comes in a small package fool you, Captain Jack, like his foster siblings Hokulani and Tulip, has an engaging, larger-than-life personality and so much love he is brimming with enthusiasm to share. With a cuteness-meter off the charts, this adoring and adorable kitten will reveal his delightfully sweet charm to one-and-all in his swashbuckling, spirited play and uninhibited invitations for one-on-one time and attention from people.

Seeking approval from a gentle touch and soft-spoken words, Captain Jack revels in being close to people, he loves being held and snuggling in peoples’ arms, and he will choose loving attention and interaction with his people over just about any other activity. That’s not to say he doesn’t enjoy playtime and adventurous exploration on his own and with other kittens – he certainly does, and vigorous, sometimes ruff-n-tumble play sessions will need to be a box-checked on his daily activity agenda.

Captain Jack, just like foster siblings Hokulani, Tulip, and so many of our kittens, came to Monroe SPCA because of being sick and starving, a tiny kitten, found outdoors and thought to be recently orphaned. He has been treated for a URI, Giardia, Coccidia, and Roundworm while with us.

Now a healthy, happy kitten, Captain Jack is looking for a forever family who can give him the time and attention a kitten needs. We recommend a paired-adoption with foster sister, Tulip, who is similarly-suited in personality and temperament to Captain Jack, although a pairing with several of our other kittens would also be an excellent choice and good fit.

Captain Jack is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low to moderately-active lifestyle. He is an extremely friendly and social kitten who gets along well with other compatible cats, and he’s comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs and respectful children of any age.

As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Captain Jack currently resides at Monroe SPCA's Adoption Center and Resale Store/The Fur Factory. You can meet him Tuesday -Thursday, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Friday 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, or by appointment; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.
