My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A lot of your questions may be answered if you visit the online application page at sfra.net There you will find some of our adoption procedures and policies described, as well as our adoption area.

Say hello to our Mia! She would love to say Hi to you! Mia is happy--always tail wagging and smiling and absolutely loves to play. She has a couple of favorite toys she will bring you all day to play with her. Mia comes to SFRA as an owner surrender. Each day she learns more about living with us and we see more of her personality. She is vivacious and active, housebroken, up to date on vax, microchipped. Mia would prefer a home with older children--perhaps 13 or above if there are children in the home. Most of all, her heart's desire is someone who is home most of the day and has a fenced yard--she loves to spend time wandering the yard while her foster parents have coffee on the deck or she will just sun herself in the warm sunshine. She appears to have a smaller than normal bladder and asks out frequently so she has had no accidents in house, but does go potty often throughout the day. She sleeps all night after a last evening potty, but loves to get up early with her foster dad and start her day. She has decided it is her duty to wake the rest of the house up by bringing them a toy and asking them to play with her. Mia does have a pretty heavy allergy problem, but we've brought it under really good control this summer. She is on a daily prescribed medication, but she has had no skin issues, no ear issues, a whole lot less scratching, and she is on a limited ingredient food. She was tested to foods this spring and showed allergic to many, but seems to do well on her new food. It could be that if the seasonal allergies continue she may need testing for pollens and perhaps allergy shots for good year-round relief, but since we've not had a frost yet, we've not evaluated that option yet. She has been happy and loving all summer and certainly not so itchy that she was miserable by any means. If you'd like more information on Mia, contact her foster mom, Susan, in Lexington, KY or start the adoption process by completing the online application to adopt at the website above--sfra.net
