My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we saw this little lady, we had to name her in honor of those fighting, lost and the survivors of breast cancer. Komen is a 5 month-old Labrador mix who is as energetic and playful as can be. She was surrendered to us after her family realized that a puppy may not have been the best choice as a friend for their 12 year-old dog.

Komen loves people of all ages, always wants to be loved and did we mention she loves to play? Komie is thrilled to spend time with her people, whether it’s playing outside and chasing leaves, playing fetch or an epic game of tug-of-war. She loves to be cuddled, snuggled and with her people in their space. She loves to be cuddled, snuggled and with her people in their space. She is currently living in a foster home with children of various ages and does very well. She does take some time to warm up, particularly with men, but once trust is earned she becomes an amazing member of the family. We feel that she may do well in a family with an outgoing dog that she can emulate and learn from.

She is completely house broken and will alert you when she needs to go. She is crate trained and knows some commands. She would do well with an active family who will give her the love and attention she deserves.

She is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and spayed. As with all our animals, there is a two-week foster period required before final adoption. We want our prospective adopters to be sure that their new family members are the right fit before they make the permanent commitment.

Please contact us if you would like to make an appointment to meet Komen.
