My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful girl is a 6 yr young, Australian Shepherd, spayed female, fully vetted, house trained, crate trained, flea free, heartworm negative, and only 54lbs. Ali is looking for her next wonderful forever home, because her current caretakers are no longer able to care for her due to health issues. She is a very pampered family member and a typical Aussie: she loves running after squirrels, chasing chipmunks and birds ! She has no favorite toys because she loves them ALL; especially "tug" toys. Ali lived with an older (9yr) beagle boy in the past (who was rehomed recently), they were play buddies. Together, they would protect their yard and family - the typical role of an Aussie. She has interacted fine around other dogs - a bit shy/timid/submissive initially; the preference will be to find her a "boyfriend" as a furry companion in her new family. With other female dogs, Ali seems to claim her person (show a bit of protection) for her caretaker. This girl will, of course, require a fenced yard due to her love of the outdoors and energy level. She does well with adults; is a bit shy (introvert) at times with strangers, and might be a bit apprehensive of men initially due to some "bad neighbor" experiences. We feel Ali would do best in a home with children over the age of 12; her interaction with small children has been very limited and she will chase what runs !
