My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you need something in your life to smile about? Little Cherry lost her home due to her owner’s unexpected illness, but this sunny sweet girl is open to new possibilities and would do her best to bring you joy every day with her big brown eyes and constantly wagging nubbin of a tail.

She is a super affectionate, quiet cuddle-bug who loves men, women and children equally and is happiest by your side. She is very good at “helping” with all the chores and tasks of daily life and this is a great job for her. You will never feel lonely with her around. Cherry is a medium energy dog and a daily walk should satisfy her exercise needs. She is the perfect size at 30 pounds.

This is a dog ready to slip right into your everyday routine. She is housetrained, rides well in a car, and hardly ever barks. At 7-8 years old, all the hard work of raising a puppy or adolescent dog is done and you can sit back and relax with her at your side. Or on your lap.

We were told her mother was a bearded collie mix and her dad was a purebred border collie and that while her fur right now is shaved, she normally has a longer coat AND she loves being groomed!

Cherry is okay with cats. She does not like other dogs in her face and will let them know by first raising her lip and if that doesn't get the message across, she will air snap. That usually works! She is living with several dogs in her foster home and is doing well, but we think she would be happiest as an only dog or one who wouldn’t have to share her people with many other dogs.

We were informed she is possessive of her food around other dogs, and probably children, too, so she should probably be given quiet alone time to enjoy her meals.

A sensitive girl, Cherry does not like fireworks! She can also scale a 4 foot fence so you will need to keep her safely indoors if you are not outside to watch her. She is crate trained and comes with her medium size wire crate.

If you are interested in possibly adopting Cherry, please complete an adoption application located here:

Or you can email Joan at findadog@hotmail.com.

You must be willing to come to southwestern Idaho to meet Cherry if you are interested in adopting her.

Cherry's adoption fee is $150. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
