Hello! My name is Bonzo and I’m a very silly, low maintenance Yellow Headed Amazon. My previous owner says I’m 35 years young - and since we Amazons can live to be 50 or 60 or more, that means you have a long long time still to love me! My previous mom was very sad to have to give me up, but she was suffering from lung issues and my being in the house made it worse so her doctor said I needed to find a new home.
I am a sweet and silly bird, once I get to know you. My foster mom’s say I’ll sit on your lap but I don’t like hands touching my head or back. I don’t like to step up onto hands, so we have a stick I step up on but then once I’m moved away from my cage I’ll be happy to step up for you. Oh and did I mention I talk? I say the silliest things like “Hello Love”, “Here Kitty Kitty”, “Ouch!”, and I crow like a rooster. I say some other things, but it’s in my special Amazon language so my foster mom’s haven’t figured out what I was saying yet.
I’m on a healthy Zupreem pellet diet and I love apples, oranges, watermelon, and grapes. I also like a peanut every now and then for a treat. I like to open almonds but I don’t eat them. Who knows?

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
