My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Garnet has been a more difficult dog to get a feel for than her sister. When she first came into rescue, she was violently opposed to being restrained and would scream when held- now, she is content to snuggle or be flipped over. She initially did not seek out people, and wouldn’t make eye contact. Now, she sits and asks to be taken out of the pen, and initiates play with bouncing and wagging. She is happy to fall asleep on your lap or follow you around when out and about. She is a more thoughtful dog than her go-getter sister, but is far from fearful- she simply prefers to weigh her options before responding instead of charging headlong into anything. She will likely blossom in a home that is a bit more savvy with behavior and training, as her early responses to stress and her observant, independent nature could cause problems for a home less aware of behavioral cues. She is fast, bold, and quick to rise to a challenge. She would likely make an incredible sport dog (leaning towards disc or agility, but herding is also a strong option). She will need an outlet for her energy and intelligence, and a capable hand to guide her to success.
