My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

NAME: Bonnie
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 4 months
WEIGHT: About 4 pounds (may add another pound as she grows)
DOGS/CATS: Gets along with other small dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with older, mature children (8 and older)

Meet adorable Bonnie, aka Bon-Bon! The name Bonnie is derived from a Scottish word meaning “pretty, attractive”. This definitely describes our little Bonnie!

Bonnie was rescued by CRT from the Arlington Animal Shelter in late September. She wasn’t the beautiful girl she is today, as she had some skin issues and missing hair. With the right medicine from the vet, great food and lots of love, Bonnie is thriving in her foster home and her hair is almost completely grown back. She is super adorable.

Bonnie is a happy little girl and gets along well with all of the other dogs – large and small – in her foster home. She loves to play chase, tug-of-war and nap on top of the furry Aussie. LOL. She loves her chew toys and snuggling with a stuffed animal.

Bonnie loves going outside and exploring the yard. Note that Bonnie is small and therefore will always need her human near by while she is out (there are instances where hawks or large birds will swoop down and pick up small dogs under 5 pounds, so you will want to be there to protect Bonnie). We also want to emphasize that your fence must be very secure. Bonnie is so tiny that she can easily slip under the smallest opening in a fence, so she will need to be in a home with a solid, fenced yard. Bonnie loves to run and explore, so her home will need to be secure in all aspects.

Bonnie loves all new people she meets, both guys and gals. Bonnie loves to snuggle and would enjoy having a warm lap every evening to sit on. There are no children in Bonnie’s foster home but we believe she will be fine with children as she gets along with everyone. Due to her small size, a home with children 8 and up would be best. Bonnie is a great snuggler and will make someone a wonderful companion.

She is completely crate trained and almost potty trained with only an accident on occasion. She will happily cuddle with you for as long as you will let her or nap in her little “house” with no complaints.

Little Bonnie is 4 pounds of love and kisses. She may add another pound as she grows, but she will always be on the smaller side. Bonnie’s fur is so dark chocolate brown that she looks black in her pictures. Her ears are super cute. We estimate Bonnie to be about 4 months old.

Bonnie is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. If this sweet girl sounds like the right fit for your home, our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Bonnie will completed her vet work around the third week of November and will be ready for her forever home at that time. We are taking applications now. She will also be micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $300 adoption fee required.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
