Introducing Baby. Baby is a Chihuahua mix with an adorable look. She has a reddish coat and the most adorable face. She has a perfect brown button nose and amazing ears. And she has a sweet personality. We can’t wait for you to meet her.

Baby was found as a stray in Weatherford TX (west of Ft Worth). Her owner never stepped forward to reclaim her. During her health analysis, it was found that Baby was heart worm positive. PLEASE give your pets their monthly heart worm preventative! This disease is such a simple thing to prevent with one heartworm prevention pill per month. Because of the medical journey ahead, no one would adopt her. Through no fault of her own, Baby found herself on the “code red” list. The Weatherford Animal Shelter reached out to CRT on literally her last day. They told us how sweet she was and begged us to bring her in to our program. We couldn’t resist her face, and traveled that day to Weatherford to pick her up. We are so happy we did — she is an adorable dog! CRT rescued Baby and began heartworm protocol on her immediately. Baby did extremely well throughout the entire process and we are excited to report that as of December, she is now testing HW negative, is healthy and is ready to go to a forever family!

Baby gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. She loves to run and play with them. She especially loves to go outside. She enjoys play time in the yard, and will explore. Her favorite thing to do is stretch out on the grass for some sun and a quick nap! Baby also loves toys of all kinds. She does have a few favorites that she tends to “protect” from the other dogs (we are teaching her that sharing is ok). Baby is easily corrected and wants to make her humans happy.

Baby loves her human family. She has a medium energy level and just wants to hang out with you. Baby loves to be the center of attention. She loves to jump up in your lap at night and watch TV with you. Cuddling is one of her favorite things. If you are taking a nap, she will sneak under the covers with you and enjoy the quiet afternoon together! She just wants to be your best friend.

Baby is about 3 years old . She weighs about 8 pounds and is fully grown. Baby would do fine as an only dog as she loves to be the favorite! LOL. She gets very attached to her humans and we think she would bask in 100% of your love! Note that Baby likes to be the leader in her pack. She would enjoy another dog as a sibling as long as it was mellow and would allow her to lead the way! We recommend an all adult home or a home with older, mature children (13 and older). She would also enjoy a moderate energy home because of her laid back personality.

Baby is smart. She is potty trained. She isn’t fond of going outside when it is cold (who is?) so we have a little coat for her. She also sleeps in her crate throughout the night. But as much as she loves to cuddle, we bet she would not mind sleeping with you and snuggling all night long!

Baby is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Baby is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, is HW negative and she is on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $250 adoption fee required.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog.
