Meet one of our newest CRT fosters – Candy!
Candy is approximately 6 months old and has the most beautiful sea green eyes. She currently weighs 6 pounds and may weigh as much as 8 pounds when she reaches her adult weight. Candy was found in a parking lot on Halloween, wet and hungry. Our foster family was not expecting any trick or treaters at their house but got tricked into taking in this sweet treat! At first she was really scared and just wasn’t sure about where she had been taken and whether or not we could be trusted. Candy has blossomed since that day and is very loving and prefers to be with her people.
Candy does have a couple of dogs in her foster home that she plays with but gravitates towards people. She is almost completely housebroken and very smart so probably just needs a family that can continue to reinforce the right place and give her the patience and guidance that all puppies need while they are growing and learning. She loves to chew still and seeks out her toys most of the time. She is a little stubborn but with patience and persistence is getting the rules down pretty quickly. She knows how to use the doggie door in her foster home but sometimes the true purpose of that doggie door escapes her. She is kind of a picky eater so probably will not be one to overeat and could be free fed. She would probably do fine with another dog playmate or without one if her people can give her the attention she will need. She is crate trained for when her people leave the house or for bed time and comes to you when she knows its time.
